Bangkok: Day 1

After 25 hours I finally arrived on my final destination: Bangkok.

The capital of Thailand, also known for its vibrant street life, colorful markets, heavy traffic congestion, intense heat, naughty nightlife and its magnificent temples and palaces.

Day 1: Didn’t get much done. Arrived around 5pm at the Hotel and just walked around the Siam Square, where the Hotel is located. Busy area surrounded by food courts, malls and street markets.

Walked through the Thanon Rama I avenue, had a drink at the Red Sky (this terrace at the rooftop of the Centara Grand at Central World) with this amazing view of the city.

Passed in front of the famous MBK Center, this huge shopping mall basically for tourists, where you can find everything from mobile phones to bags and T-shirts.

And of course, on the way back I ended up buying this pair of shoes on this street market. Believe it or not, I’ve been looking for something like this everywhere and ended up finding here, in Bangkok, on the streets.

After the last crazy hours and days, I thought I should just go back and try to sleep early. Well, of course it’s not working. I’m completely jet lagged. So instead, I’m going for a midnight run! Hopefully I get back exhausted..

Depois de 25 horas viajando, finalmente cheguei no meu destino: Bangkok.

A capital da Thailândia, conhecida também por suas ruas agitadas, mercados coloridos, engarrafamentos, calor intenso, vida noturna distinta e seus magnificos templos e palácios.

Dia 1: Não deu para fazer muita coisa pois cheguei no Hotel por volta de 5 da tarde. Portanto andei um pouco pelo bairro, chamado de Siam Square. Região com muitos restaurantes, shopping centers e feiras de rua.

Caminhei pela Avenida Thanon Rama I e fui ate o Red Sky, um rooftoop no 55 andar de um prédio chamado Central World, com uma vista linda da cidade.

Passei em frente ao famoso MBK Center, um enorme shopping feito basicamente aos turístas aonde você encontra de aparelhos eletrônicos à bolsas e camisetas.

E claro que na volta acabei comprando um par de sapatos nessa feirinha de rua, que acredite ou nao, caiu como um par de luvas.

Depois de tantas horas e dias viajando, eu pensei, melhor eu tentar dormir cedo. Mas claro que não foi uma boa idéia. Não com o fuso desse jeito. Em vez disso, vou fazer aquela corridinha da meia noite. Espero que eu volte exausta..
