Chiang Mai: Tips

There are more than 300 temples in Chiang Mai and its outskirts, with a dozen stand-outs of historical or architectural significance within walking distance of each other. Though certain temples on the conventional tourist circuit can be overrun with loud groups it is not hard to find many less well-known, but no less interesting.

Top 3:

  • Wat Phra That Doi Suthep (Situated at the Chiang Mall Hills) – 30 baht / free for Thai
  • Wat Pha Lat (Chiang Mai Hills – Less visited and the best one in my opinion)
  • Wat Chedi Luang

Others:

  • Wat Phra Shing
  • Wihan Lai Kham
  • Wat Ching Man
